Term 1 Week 2

Teal Class

Our online class made fabulous collages inspired by the work of Henri Matisse! We used water effect paper that we painted last week for the goldfish bowls, and cut geometric and organic shapes to create a background.

Maroon & Turquoise Class

Our reception, year 1 and year 2 classes also made goldfish bowl collages inspired by Matisse, We think the results look lovely!

Amber & Magenta Class

Our year 3 and 4 artists looked at the abstract collages of Rex Ray and produced their own interpretations using painted paper we had prepared before lockdown. We got some very colourful results!

Jade & Emerald Class

Our year 5 and 6 artists made exploded squares incorporating the Japanese design concept ‘Notan’, involving the placement of dark and light elements. We started off with a simple design, and then challenged ourselves to add more complicated details.

Violet Class- Explore Arts Award

Our Explore Arts Award class have been working on Part A of the award. This week we experimented with alcohol inks! We created designs onto special paper and acetate- we then used the acetate to form abstract sculptures. We’ll record our views on this technique in our log books.
