We are so happy to be back in the studio! It’s been lovely to see all of our students again. We’re focusing on collage this term- here’s what we’ve been up to so far!
Maroon & Turquoise Class
Our reception, year 1 and year 2 artists used watercolour to create wavy patterns in different shades and tones. We are going to use our water effect paper for a collage project next week. We also looked closely at some feathers, and drew them in different ways.

Amber & Magenta Class
Our year 3 and 4 artists created beautiful silhouette art! We made the marbled backgrounds before lockdown- in this session, we designed and cut out silhouettes to place in front of them. We got some lovely results!

Jade & Emerald Class
Our year 5 and 6 artists produced some striking landscapes inspired by the work of artist Kate Shaw. We used marbled papers produced before lockdown to cut mountain shapes- we worked on depicting the reflection of the mountains in the water.

Cyan, Indigo & Cerise Class
Our Key Stage 3 & 4 artists experimented with manual photo manipulation. We used oil pastels, soft pastels and marker pens, and scratched into the surface of the photos to alter their appearance. Some of the old portrait photos ended up looking rather spooky!
