Term 5 is all about sculpture! We’ll be working with a range of media over the course of the term to create some exciting three-dimensional artwork.
Maroon, Amber & Turquoise Class
Our reception, year 1 and year 2 artists worked on some paper sculptures, building on their papercrafting skills from last term. We experimented with building a mini cityscape, forming a range of heights and widths to add interest to our work. We also had a go at making animal forms using only newspaper, masking tape and parcel tape.

Magenta & Violet Class
Our year 3 and 4 artists started a two week project, creating lanterns with tissue paper and PVA glue. We tore strips of tissue paper and glued them to a plastic base, building up the layers with plenty of glue. We added three pieces of wire to act as feet for the lantern. On the last layer we added touches of glitter for a bit of extra sparkle!
Emerald Class
Our year 5 and 6 artists started a two week willow sculpture project. We formed designs from willow withies, using masking tape to hold the lengths in place. We took advantage of the warm weather to work outside, hanging our sculptures in the trees to support them while we worked on them.
