Term 4 Week 4

Unfortunately this week was cut short- we made the difficult decision to suspend our classes due to the coronavirus. Hopefully we’ll be up and running again sometime soon!

Teal Class

Our Bronze Arts Award group grouted the beautiful mosaic coasters that they made with Muni last week. We’re looking forward to giving them a final polish once they’re fully dry!

Cyan & Indigo Class

Our Key Stage 3 & 4 artists worked on a monotone mountain landscape. We used Indian ink, drawing ink, watercolour and bleach, creating a variety of marks on the paper. We also produced a sheet of black texture using printing ink and a roller, ready to use when we introduce collage elements to the landscapes.

Term 4 Week 3

Maroon & Turquoise Class

Our reception, year 1 and year 2 artists finished their beautiful rainbows today! We also drew to music and used Brusho and cling film to create some patterned paper for next week’s projects.

Amber, Magenta & Violet Class

Our year 3 and 4 artists had a go at shaving foam marbling! It was a lot of fun, if rather messy. We’ve created lots of patterned paper to use in future collages.

Jade & Emerald Class

Our year 5 and 6 artists produced some patterned paper for future projects using shaving foam marbling, traditional marbling and watercolour washes.

Cyan & Indigo Class

Our Key Stage 3 and 4 artists combined the gesso experiments from last week to create compositions. We used masking tape, more gesso, scissors and PVA glue to alter the appearance of the pieces. We then added found imagery taken from magazines.

Term 4 Week 2

Maroon & Turquoise Class

This week our reception, year 1 and year 2 artists made beautiful rainbows!

Amber, Magenta & Jade Class

Our year 3 and 4 artists made beautiful bugs using assemblage techniques! We cut the main shapes from cardboard, painted them, then added various details using a variety of different bits and pieces.

Jade & Emerald Class

Our year 5 and 6 artists created collage pieces based on the work of Jen Stark. We got some great results!

Cyan & Indigo Class

Our Key Stage 3 and 4 artists experimented with using gesso (coloured with paint) to create textured backgrounds for future collages. We painted layers of gesso and manipulated the surface in different ways. We’ll be using the results in next week’s session.
