At Artivity we offer children and young people in the Deepings and surrounding areas the opportunity to work towards an Arts Award. Arts Award is a range of unique qualifications that supports anyone aged up to 25 to grow as artists and arts leaders, inspiring them to connect with and take part in the wider arts world through taking challenges in an art form – from fashion to digital art, pottery to poetry.

Delivered at five different levels (the introductory Discover level followed by the accredited Explore, Bronze, Silver and Gold levels), young people get to:

• discover the enjoyment of creating and participating in any art form
• develop their creativity and leadership skills
• learn new skills and share them with others
• experience working with creative arts professionals
• gain experience and knowledge to progress into further education and employment

To achieve their Arts Award, young people take on challenges in an art form, participate in arts activities, experience arts events, get inspired by artists and share their arts skills with others. Young people create a portfolio to keep a record of their creative journey. Along the way they are supported by an Arts Award adviser, acting as assessor, facilitator and mentor.

Ellie is qualified to deliver and assess all levels of Arts Award- she has successfully run Discover and Explore courses for over two hundred children to date, and has run Bronze, Silver and Gold courses at Artivity for the past few years. Our Thursday assistant Jo is also qualified in Bronze and Silver.

We currently run our Arts Award courses on Thursdays (see our Classes page for details). We usually have an Explore course running from September to December (Year 3 and up), Bronze from January to July (Year 6 and up), and Silver (Year 9 and up) and Gold (Year 10 and up) from September to July. We offer Discover through holiday workshops over the summer holidays.
